Science & Tradition: A Himlayan Conservation Story (2025)

Synopsis:

In Nepal’s remote Limi Valley, conservation is not just about saving the elusive Himalayan wolf—it’s about forging an alliance between science and tradition.

This film follows two scientists, Dr. Geraldine Werhahn and PhD Student Naresh Kusi, both from the Himlayan Wolf Project as they return to the high Himalayas, working alongside local communities to navigate the delicate balance of coexistence between predators and people.

Through their research, personal journeys, and the voices of herders who share the land with wolves and snow leopards, the film reveals how conservation thrives when it is rooted in both knowledge and culture.

About the project:

A high-altitude documentary exploring predator conservation in one of the most remote valleys on Earth. Following scientists and herders at 4,000 meters, the film captures the tension between tradition, ecology, and the fate of the elusive Himalayan wolf.
